| The
origins of JDM Honda Parts dot com stem from 1998. Two friends, Sheng
and Jason Katman, collaborated and eventually birthed JDMHONDAPARTS.com.
Sheng - being business minded and having connections within the import industry, and Jason Katman a web savvy tech nerd/Honda enthusiast, combined farces and JDMHONDAPARTS.COM was born in 1999. Our very
first location was in Temple City CA which was a couple garages down
from Raceline Development. One of JDMHP's very first employee's was
FF-Squad's very own Ryan Baisley! Ryan graced the JDMHP hallways until
2003 and eventually made his way over to Pasadena Honda working and
managing their parts department. Sometime in 2003, we moved a few miles away to a larger facility over in the city of El Monte. Our goal: to provide used and new rare JDM OEM and aftermarket Honda parts for the growing JDM Honda enthusiast masses! |

| In September 2003, we went through a web domain name change, a complete website overhaul, and a logo update. Most of this change revolved around a cease-and-desist letter we received from Honda of America. They were cracking down on any online automotive businesses that contained "Honda" within their domain name -- which we obviously had. Because we're not in direct relation to Honda of America, using 'Honda' within a domain url for an online business was deemed "infringing" upon them as the letter stated. They felt it was 'misleading' people into thinking we were an authorized entity that deals directly with Honda of America. Although we had mixed feelings about this unfortunate situation, this became the catalyst of change and "JDM Honda Parts USA" aka "JHPUSA" was conceived. With the help of a hired web designer and friends over at Pitcrewmotorsport's, the familiar JHP "splat" logo was created. JHP v2 was eventually launched at the end of 2003. The web store was built with OSCommerce software, which served us well in the 3-4 years of use, but started showing its age towards 2006-07. It was time for an upgrade! |

| We moved to a completely new facility at the top of 2006 located in the city of San Gabriel. This new building is located in a business park and has a healthy sized warehouse, much larger than our previous locations. Come
2007, we felt it was time for an upgrade on top of starting fresh in a new building. This time on a more
professional level, we hired our friends over at JTuned for the job. They had a side website development business (Medium Giant) and have rebuilt numerous websites in the import scene. Development took close to a year to complete and in May 2008, JHP v.3 launched. Our goal was to have a simple yet eye catching store theme - taking
cues from Apple's website. We were after cleaner website functionality for our customers on the front and back ends that included real-time credit card processing, larger product photos, and other features. All products were re-shot in order to flow in unison with the black background/brushed silver
gradient theme of the website. The programming our web store was rebuilt from the ground up using Early Impact's ProductCart
software. The content management of our site is 100x easier to maintain
as well as process orders much more quickly. We also revamped our logo dubbed "JHP Intel". The look of JHP v.3 pays homage to the first version of 1999 JDM Honda Part website for those that remember that old site! |
